Johor Bahru haze and air quality today

Friday 9 October: the CAMS global model forecasts a daily mean of 100 µg/m³ PM2.5 for Johor Bahru today, above the WHO interim target 1 (75 µg/m³); the highest of the next days is 100 µg/m³. These are model values. SkyPollen does not yet have a pollen level for Johor Bahru: no pollen forecast exists for Malaysia. For the official air pollutant index (API) see APIMS (Department of Environment Malaysia, live air pollutant index).

Haze and allergy in Johor Bahru

Johor Bahru lies just across the Johor Strait from Singapore, joined to it by the Causeway, and the two cities usually breathe the same haze: when Singapore's PSI climbs, Johor Bahru's air quality index tends to climb with it. Johor is also one of Malaysia's largest oil palm states. Oil palm pollen is a recognised allergen in South-east Asia, and people who live and work near plantations can become sensitised to it, but no pollen count or forecast is published for it anywhere, so this page cannot show one.
